Chuppi Todo - Break the Silence

Many incidences of kids being sexually abused have surfaced in print as well as on social media. Our kids are vulnerable to such attacks. What should we as adults do?

Ours kids might not necessarily be strong, but we need to make them feel strong. And we can do this by first being strong. If we as Adults don’t stand up, nobody else will. If we as adults accept these incidences as one of incidence or if occurred and we accept this as our fate, our kids would have no place to go. If we don’t talk, our kids would be at risk. They would never anticipate, would never understand, would never object, would never be able to protect themselves.

So Talk! A strong message needs to go to people around us that we as parents, we as Adults, we as a society will not tolerate sexual abuse of our children.

The short movie clip ‘Chuppi Todo – Break the Silence’ is our attempt to sensitize people, create awareness among them to protect kids from Sexual Abuses. Show this to your kids, kids around you, their friends. Show this to kids of your maid, your helper, your driver or anyone who does not have access to social media. Educate them and ask them to Speak Up!

Discuss Ganda (a lockdown short film on Child Sexual Abuse)

Our humble super short film on a virus that is killing our children slowly and there is no cure for it yet. #Childsexualabuse is killing our society and it's not going anywhere. Every time we tighten our laws, it comes back with a vengeance. So what can we do?

Remove our mask of fake decency, and talk about it. Have difficult conversations in our homes. If someone tells you they were #sexuallyabused, don't judge them for being weak, or damaged, or deranged. Hear them out, and bear witness. Look inside of you - is there a #victim hiding, or worse a #perpetrator?

This film was created during the covid-19 #lockdown. Written by the prolific and amazing, Tanuj Khosla, it features Rahat Nusrat, Rohit Pahade and their two beautiful children Seher and Azaan. Given the taboo around this subject, these children and their parents showed bravery and courage to put their faces..

A FilmsPositive film made with Cactus Foundation.
